General Information
The ARA (Altstoff Recycling Austria AG) and eight recycling companies form the ARA System. In cooperation with more than 100 regional waste collection companies, and numerous waste associations and communities, they have established a tight network for competitive and cost-efficient collection and recovery of packaging.
The ARA System runs nationwide systems for the collection and recovery of all household and commercial packaging waste. It was founded in 1993 by Austrian trade and industry to execute the regulations of the Austrian Packaging Ordinance on their behalf and to sustain the system of a packaging eco-cycle.
