Established in 2004, GreenPak is the pioneer of post-consumer waste recovery in Malta. In 2010 GreenPak became a Cooperative Society Limited owned by the very companies using GreenPak’s compliance services. Its principal aim is to provide a service to producers, importers and traders in Malta and help them meet their various environmental and legal obligations. Adopting the Green Dot concept, the company strives to be also instrumental in Malta's ability to meet the national targets arising from the several EU Directives. As members, operators transfer their legal obligations to GreenPak who undertakes collectively and on behalf of its members their responsibility to recover, sort and recycle all packaging material they put on the market. By way of audited procedures, members will also be able to show their waste trail and conform to their environmental and legal obligations.
