Sekopak is a not-for-profit recovery organization funded in 2006 by Serbian industry. It steers the packaging waste system implementation under the Serbian Law on Packaging and Packaging Waste (“Sluzbeni glasnik RS”, number 36/09) adopted in 2009. Sekopak is supporting practical solutions to be implemented in the sphere of minimising influence packaging and packaging waste has on the environment. Sekopak is implementing the system according to the new packaging legislation regulating packaging waste field in line with EU Directives. Responsible industry is working on implementing the Law through shared responsibility with municipalities and private waste collectors.
