In Quebec, industry’s share of the costs of municipal programs to recycle containers, packaging and printed matter is 70% for 2010 and will reach 100% for 2013. The scheme that represents industry in this province is Éco Entreprises Québec (ÉEQ).

ÉEQ was certified to meet the obligations set out by the Environment Quality Act (EQA) and the regulation on the compensation plan, which create a legal obligation for targeted companies and organizations to financially compensate Quebec municipalities.
