Licensing the Green Dot in North America

In North America, StewardEdge and PRO EUROPE/DSD have agreed that the trademark cannot be used at this time as a financing symbol. Rather, StewardEdge will protect the trademark in North America by charging a licensing fee, based on cost recovery, to those companies that manufacture or import products and packaging that display the Green Dot intended for the North American marketplace.

The "user agreement" license fee for calendar year 2011 is $1,250 (U.S.). This fee covers the license for products sold in North America in the calendar year 2011. Green Dot North America operates on a cost-recovery basis to cover the cost of setting up licenses with existing (and future) users as well as the cost of participation in the management of PRO-Europe.
